Our fleet consists of exciting modern machines imperative to building today’s sleek skylines for construction, development and infrastructure sectors. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Fitter to join our team in Ossett.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, repairing, installation and maintenance of light and heavy plant and equipment, so that they are safe, legal, compliant and in line with quality standards for hire.
This is a mobile position, and a company van will be provided to the successful candidate in order to attend site breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all repairs, installation, preparation and maintenance of complex electrical wiring and circuitry within the fleet;
- Identify and diagnose any electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic issues;
- Undertake repairs in line with manufacturer warranty / guidelines and in line with levels of authority;
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure repairs, installation and maintenance is carried out in accordance with warranty / standard requirements;
- Utilise computer diagnostic equipment, manuals and technical drawings to aid the appropriate repair installation and maintenance needs;
- Conduct repairs using specially designed tools and machinery as required / outlined;
- Create and maintain a robust and transparent system and schedule to ensure equipment is regularly maintained in accordance with all legal and statutory requirements;
- Carry out routine inspections and maintenance in line with requirements / company policy / manufacturer recommendations;
- Provide detailed and accurate updates on any potential costs of repairs and maintenance;
- Ensure repair, servicing and maintenance is prioritised in accordance with the hire schedule; liaising with the Hire desk to co-ordinate customer needs;
- Ensure that all equipment is inspected pre and post hire and the necessary work is undertaken to repair and maintain the equipment for future hire;
- Support with on-site breakdown repairs and assist colleagues with general fault finding;
- Liaise with customers as required on all matters relating to repairs and installation;
- Complete all necessary documentation / input into relevant systems with updates such as safety checks, audits, inspections, risk assessments;
- Undertake spot checks and risk assessments and put corrective measures in place as required;
- Take stock of parts, complete stock audits, ensure stock levels are appropriate and place orders within authorised limits / escalate as required;
- Support the training and development of Workshop colleagues;
- Flag issues and risks to the Workshop Supervisor;
- Work in a clean, healthy and safe manner at all times, adhering to company policies and legislative requirements;
- Provide feedback and input for business improvements.
About You
The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying any electrical, electronic, mechanical, hyrdraulic or pneumatic issues. In addition, you will have excellent organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure, prioritise and solve problems.
