We are currently seeking a Head of People Operations to join our dynamic People team based at our modern, contemporary, state-of-the-art new head office, the Isaacs Building, located in Sheffield's 'Heart of the City'.

As our Head of People Operations, you will be responsible for our People operations, playing a crucial role in leading the team to provide expert support and guidance on all people-related matters. You will also be responsible for the Payroll and Employee benefits team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead, motivate and develop the People Operations function, including the People Business Partners and Advisors and Payroll, to deliver a high-quality, effective business focussed approach to employee relations.
  • To develop and promote PO activities which deliver and support a culture of high performance and employee engagement
  • In conjunction with the People Director and the Head of Organisational Development, support the delivery of the Group and subsidiary strategies by developing and overseeing the delivery of the People Strategy and related initiatives through fully aligned and coordinated People Plans.
  • In conjunction with Senior Leaders, develop and deliver innovative, sustainable, customer-focused People Plans that will support the delivery of the Group and subsidiary strategies and objectives
  • To be an ambassador for the People team, seeking out opportunities for the service to add value
  • Support the wider People team in developing their understanding of People Operations to deliver a rounded people experience.

About you

You will have exceptional communication and leadership skills with the confidence to build collaborative relationships.

  • Successful completion of Level 7 CIPD or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in people management
  • Experience of overseeing payroll
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to influence and manage relationships effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and judgment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Demonstrable experience of information and data analysis
  • Experienced in change management
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
  • Methodical and organised approach with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and proactive mindset.
