A keen collaborator, HBD often partners with public and private sector organisations to deliver its projects – from Golden Valley in Cheltenham, which is set to be a world-class science and technology hub, through to SPARK a 44 acre industrial and logistics development which will transform one of the largest brownfield sites in the Midlands.
We are looking for a Development Manager to join our team in Leeds to find, appraise, acquire, and deliver new development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, acquire, and deliver new development opportunities.
- Take responsibility for specific areas of project work and effectively report progress and/or issues arising.
- Monitor and report on the progress of project consultants and liaise with external parties on the progress of work.
- Instruct and liaise with consultants for specific areas of work, ensuring alignment with Henry Boot’s Core Values and obtaining necessary approvals from the team leader and/or Director for new opportunities
- Proactively seek to understand legal and other agreements/documents related to projects and seek clarification when needed.
- Manage good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure alignment with HBD's core values
Qualifications and Skills:
- MRICS status and experience in various elements of the property development process.
- Should understand the development process and have good knowledge of key aspects.
- Able to liaise with and instruct external team members, lead project work streams, and develop relationships with agents, consultants, and potential occupiers.
- Expected to take the initiative to understand legal agreements related to active projects.
- Understand the principles of development appraisal and the company’s appraisal system.
- Able to prepare and present submissions and reports professionally.
- Prepared to support presentations and understand good presentation skills.
- Actively seek to expand and utilise market networks to source new opportunities.
