Job Description

We promote flexible and agile working opportunities; this role is either a part-time or full-time position (24-37.5 hours per week).

Henry Boot PLC is the parent company of the Sheffield-based Henry Boot Group of Companies. With over 136 years of proven expertise, Henry Boot PLC (the Group) is one of the country's leading property investment and development, strategic land development, construction, and plant hire organisations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Host to be based at our modern, contemporary, state-of-the-art new head office, the Isaacs Building, located in Sheffield's 'Heart of the City'.

The role:

This is a crucial role that will provide support at a pivotal time for our business, as after 90 years we are relocating our Head Office to the city centre. (You can read the full press release here!)

The Community Engagement Host will act in the hospitality capacity as the primary contact for all internal and external stakeholders to provide an outstanding experience in our engagements and operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet internal and external stakeholders.

  • Handle enquiries into the business via phone, email and face-to-face interactions.

  • Plan, create and deliver a dynamic programme of events and employee engagement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate events held at Isaacs Head Office and to actively promote employee engagement content.

  • Liaise with facilities management to report and manage any maintenance issues.

  • Create and seek opportunities for the business to collaborate and work in partnership with other local organisations to build and strengthen our relationships, e.g. offering our space for networking events etc.

  • Provide flexibility to alternative working hours, e.g. evenings and weekends, as some events may be held outside of standard business operating hours.

  • Follow and maintain high standards for office protocols throughout the Head Office building, providing day-to-day office coordination.

About you

You will have outstanding communication and customer service skills with the confidence to build collaborative relationships.

  • Previous experience in planning and delivering events and promoting the events via social media and PR channels.

  • Be creative with a keen eye for detail to help produce materials to promote events with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Previous experience providing a customer service experience within a hospitality/large office environment.

  • Industry-recognised qualification in Hospitality/Event/Marketing management or equivalent is desirable.

As this is a newly-created position, we’re looking for someone who has the passion and the drive to shape what ‘great’ looks like for Henry Boot, both in terms of creating a quality arrival experience for visitors and by working alongside people from right across the business to shape what a successful programme of employee engagement looks like.

You will need to be sociable, with a positive ‘can-do’ outlook. You will have great project and people management skills and be able to manage your own time efficiently, working closely with the internal comms and marketing teams, IT and HR teams.

We are passionate about our people, and we are committed to your career development with us. You will have full access to our Learning and Development team, and we encourage you to consider your own training desires and make suggestions. We pride ourselves on fully supporting you in undertaking training and education to achieve your goals and objectives.

  • We support a complete business closure between Christmas and New Year, which does not require you to use your annual leave entitlement;

  • We give you enhanced pay if you take leave due to becoming a parent; however, you become a parent;
